Backgrounds
of Problems identified:
Survival in danger (due to poverty and VIH/AIDS infections), difficulty
in access to credit by rural group, lack of interest by the other
NGO in developing other non traditional production branches, insufficient
training in these new income generating branches of production,
poor answers from non structured grassroots organisations, inaccessibility
to agricultural inputs, unorganised marketing system of food crops.
Difficult access to information on the VIH/AIDS pandemia prevent
methods as well as living with infected persons.
Brief
history of the institution :
APRIS is and NGO created by a group of professional with a long
experiences in following and management of the rural people Its
aims at providing approaches of solutions in identifying problem
in order to held guaranty survival through participatory and persuasive
methods through a permanent search for methods that correspond to
the needs of poor people their will of self-help promotion and their
fight against poverty and the VIH/AIDS pandemia threatening rural
populations.
Vision
:
APRIS dreams of an autonomous rural world, free from poverty, with
capacities of managing its own affairs sustain ably and participating
actively in decision concerning the rural world where men and women
strongly united together master product cycles markets, saving access
to credit and reinvestment.
Mission
:
Contribute in the search of strategies to fight poverty through
sustainable agriculture, prevention of the VIH/AIDS infections through
sensitisation of highly exposed groups.
Objectives
:
Support through training, coordination, advices and support to rural
communities and disfavoured groups in order to guarantee survival
through development of alternative at all levels, socio-economic
promotion of target groups, promotion of viable agricultural branches
and the fight against the VIH/AIDS infections.
Activities
:
Extension, training and animation, Sensitisation on the VIH/AIDS
pandemia, micro credit and supply of farm inputs, technical follows
up, Studies, survey and research in rural development.
Results
already obtained :
Organisation
of GICS into networks, training and finance of more than 300 farmer
organisations of more than 2.500 farmers under ginger, dry beans,
maize, yam, cassava, soya, solo paw paw, Irish and sweet potatoes
programmes. Selection and training of 30 pairs trainers on the prevention
of MST/AIDS and unwanted pregnancies.

Employment Funds (micro-credit to farmers groups), FONGDEC(strategies
for reduction of poverty).
